Kirby and I bonded over our love for the greatest Indie rock and roll band of all time from the moment we met in August of 1987.

Not only did we play great, under-appreciated tunes together during my first year of college, we both played Division II soccer together. He was an incredible ally for me, the new kid, moving to a new town, a new state and getting acclimated to living on my own for the first time. I was horrible at it.

Kirby, in my not so humble opinion, is one of the finest singers I have ever had the pleasure of working with over the past 25+ years. Not only can he sing exemplary, he can also play a seriously mean guitar, as well as write an incredibly great/hooky original song.

I absolutely thought his 1990s band Jakeleg was destined for greatness and promoted them as much as I could during the glory days of the burgeoning online music/MP3 industry pre-dot com/stock market crash.

Though I haven't spoken to him in over 10+ years, I seriously hope that he is doing well these days.
